Placebo is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album with a new release. The band will drop *Placebo RE:CREATED*, a fresh version of their self-titled album from 1996, on June 19. This new record features reworked versions of all the original songs.
In an Instagram post, Placebo described the project as a “director’s cut.” They didn’t start from scratch; instead, they revisited the original master tapes and infused the recordings with 30 years of live performance experience. The band aims to bring the album into the 21st century while keeping the original spirit intact.
“This isn’t about improving the album; it’s about completing it,” they explained. The band sees this release as a way to honor their beginnings while showcasing how they’ve evolved over the years.
Alongside the album, Placebo will embark on a 30th anniversary European tour starting in September. Fans can expect to hear songs from both *Placebo* and their 1998 follow-up, *Without You I’m Nothing*.
