Sublime has just released the title track from their upcoming album, *Until the Sun Explodes*. The album is set to drop on June 12 and is the first new music from the band since their self-titled album in 1996, which came out shortly after the passing of frontman Bradley Nowell.
After Nowell’s death, Sublime disbanded, and members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh formed a new group called Sublime with Rome in 2009. However, they reunited at the end of 2023 with Nowell’s son, Jakob Nowell, taking over vocals and guitar.
Jakob shared his thoughts on Facebook, saying, “The last Sublime record that will ever be made is Self-Titled. There’s no replacing history, period. *Until the Sun Explodes* is an epilogue, and the single ‘Until the Sun Explodes’ is the epilogue to the epilogue.” He added, “It is a tribute to the expansive works of Sublime, an acknowledgment of all my father has done for me, and most importantly, a thank you. I love you, Dad, and I owe you my life.”
You can check out the music video for the title track on YouTube now. The album will also feature the 2025 single “Ensenada,” which reached #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. Fans are excited to see what this new chapter brings for Sublime!
