Soul Asylum has released a new acoustic version of their classic hit “Misery.” This track is part of their upcoming live album, *MPLS Unplugged*. The album features their 2023 concert at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, celebrating 30 years since their iconic MTV Unplugged performance in 1993.
In this fresh take on “Misery,” the song feels more open and reflective. It allows the melody to shine through in a warmer and more nuanced way. Along with “Misery,” *MPLS Unplugged* includes acoustic renditions of other fan favorites like “Runaway Train,” “Black Gold,” and “Somebody to Shove.”
