U2 drops a surprise EP titled ‘U2 – Easter Lily’.

U2 has surprised fans once again with a new EP titled “U2 – Easter Lily.” This follows their earlier release, “U2 – Days of Ash,” which came out in February. While “Days of Ash” tackled the chaotic state of the world, “Easter Lily” takes a more introspective approach, focusing on themes like friendship, loss, hope, and renewal.

Bono shared his thoughts on the EP, saying it raises personal questions about relationships and faith in challenging times. He wonders how hard we fight for friendships and whether our beliefs can withstand the chaos of modern life. He also reflects on the importance of rituals and ceremonies, linking the title to Patti Smith’s 1978 album “Easter,” which inspired him.

Alongside the EP, U2 has released a special digital edition of their magazine, Propaganda. This edition includes in-studio photos by Larry Mullen Jr., song lyrics, and more. “U2 – Easter Lily” is now available on digital platforms, with lyric videos on YouTube.

Currently, U2 is working on a new album, which Bono describes as a “noisy, messy, ‘unreasonably colourful’ album to play live.” He emphasizes that they continue to see rock and roll as a form of resistance against negativity.

The tracklist for “U2 – Easter Lily” includes:
– “Song for Hal,” featuring The Edge on lead vocals
– “In a Life”
– “Scars”
– “Resurrection Song”
– “Easter Parade”
– “COEXIST (I Will Bless the Lord at All Times?)” with a new soundscape by Brian Eno.
