Sombr (Bryce Glenn) has released a new music video for his song “Potential,” which features a mix of ballet, burglary, and even some dinosaurs. In the track, Sombr reflects on a past relationship, singing lines like, “We had potential/ Makes me mental/ Not having you.” He also acknowledges his fame, saying, “It was a difficult breakup/ but I wrote some songs that got me famous.”
The video shows Sombr, his girlfriend, and a friend as a group of burglars. They rob a convenience store and a jewelry store while having fun. Interspersed with their antics is footage of a ballerina and her partner dancing in a natural history museum, where dinosaur bones are on display. Sombr and his girlfriend eventually sneak into the museum while their friend waits outside. Their romantic stroll through the exhibits takes a turn when Sombr accidentally triggers an alarm while admiring an artifact. The police arrive and arrest him, but as he’s taken away, he thinks of the girl and the artifact he was looking at, called “The Lovers,” which features a male and female figure painted on a rock.
Sombr debuted “Potential” at Coachella last weekend and is set to perform there again on April 18.
