Bret Michaels Exits Freedom 250 Field

Bret Michaels has pulled out of the Freedom 250 Great American State Fair. The Poison frontman shared the news on Instagram, explaining that he initially saw the event as a celebration of the country and a way to honor veterans, active military, first responders, teachers, and hardworking Americans. As the son of a veteran, he felt proud to support this cause.

Michaels emphasized that his music has always been about bringing people together and spreading positivity, not politics. However, he expressed concern that the event has become more divisive than he expected. He also mentioned safety issues for himself, his fans, and his crew, citing unfounded threats.

Due to these reasons, he has decided to step away from the performance. The Great American State Fair is scheduled for June 25 to July 10 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Other artists, including Morris Day and the Time, Martina McBride, The Commodores, and Young MC, have also dropped out of the lineup.
