Get ready for an emotional ride on Metric’s Canadian indie all-star tour! The band is set to perform at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on June 9, 2023. Lead singer Emily Haines shared her excitement, saying, “I think it’s gonna be as advertised: all the feelings.” She believes the tour features a unique and interesting lineup, making it a special experience for everyone involved.
Haines hopes the tour will inspire fans to reconnect with old friends. “I’m hoping people will also look up their maybe long-lost friends and bring them out,” she said. The members of Metric, Broken Social Scene, and Stars have a long history together, often playing in each other’s bands. Haines even sings on the iconic BSS track “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl.” When asked if she would perform the song on tour, she enthusiastically replied, “Oh, hell yeah! That’s my tune. I gotta do it, right?”
Haines reflected on the lasting impact of “Anthems,” noting, “There must be something primal and meditative about certain songs and how they connect.” She expressed her surprise and joy at the song’s legacy, saying, “I never could have predicted that that would happen with that song, and I’m just so happy it did.”
The All the Feelings tour kicks off on Monday in Austin, and Metric’s new album, Romanticize the Dive, is available now.
