A tribute ceremony honoring Lemmy Kilmister will take place at England’s Download Festival.

A tribute ceremony for Lemmy Kilmister, the legendary frontman of Motörhead, will take place on Friday at the 2026 Download Festival in England. This event is part of the Lemmy Forever initiative, which honors Lemmy by placing a portion of his ashes in significant locations around the world. His ashes have already been enshrined in places like the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, Hellfest in France, and Wacken Open Air in Germany.

Motörhead manager Todd Singerman expressed the importance of these events, saying, “Not everyone can make the pilgrimage to visit Lemmy in Hollywood, so we are bringing Lem back to his fans. These places meant something to him, and they mean something to the people who loved him. It’s important that they have somewhere they can come, raise a glass, share a story, and spend a moment with him.”

The Download Festival will also honor Phil Campbell, the late guitarist of Motörhead, who passed away in March. Singerman added, “When Phil passed, we lost such an important family member, and I know Lem would insist we all raise a glass to Phil as well.” This celebration promises to be a heartfelt tribute to two rock legends.
