Bill Gould, the bassist of Faith No More, has confirmed that the band is reuniting. In a recent interview on the Rock Talk podcast, he said, “We’re gonna do it. We’re gonna play.” This announcement follows a post on the band’s Instagram featuring their logo and the year 2027.
Gould expressed concerns about the physical nature of their music, noting, “We wrote it as 20-year-olds, and it’s always been very physical.” He added, “We all kind of decided, like, we think we can do it. We could do it for a few more years, and we can do it the right way, so we’re gonna give it a go.”
Faith No More has not performed live since 2016. They were scheduled to return in 2021, but those plans were canceled due to frontman Mike Patton’s mental health issues. Patton later revealed he was diagnosed with agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder. After the cancellation, some band members hinted that Faith No More might be finished. Drummer Mike Bordin mentioned in a 2025 interview that he felt Patton was “unwilling to do shows with us.” Keyboardist Roddy Bottum also said in a separate interview that no one seemed ready for a reunion at that time.
While fans eagerly await the announcement of their live return dates, Mike Patton is currently performing some Faith No More songs on tour with his new project, AVTT/PTTN, alongside The Avett Brothers.
