The show at La Défense Arena was cut short while the band was playing “2 Minutes to Midnight.” Although the power came back on and the band returned to the stage about an hour later, they had to end the show without their usual encore due to the venue’s curfew. This was particularly disappointing since they were filming the concert for a new concert film as part of their Run for Your Lives tour.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson addressed the situation on the band’s website, expressing his disappointment and frustration. He acknowledged that many fans traveled long distances and waited patiently during the interruption, hoping to see the full performance. “We share your disappointment,” he said. Dickinson emphasized that the band and crew were just as eager to deliver a complete show.
Despite the setback, Dickinson highlighted the amazing atmosphere in the arena. He thanked fans for their patience and support during the challenging situation, noting that the energy in the room was incredible. This experience reminded the band of why they love performing in Paris.
The Run for Your Lives tour, celebrating Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary, will continue through Europe until mid-July before heading to North America in late August.
