Noah Kahan is asking fans to stop taking a road sign in Strafford, Vermont. The sign marks Alger Brook Road, a place he mentions in his song “The View Between the Villages.” In the song he sings, “Past Alger Brook Road/ I’m over the bridge/ A minute from home/ But I feel so far from it.”
On his Instagram Story, Noah said the sign has been stolen many times. He called it “total disrespect” to the people who live there and a headache for the town. He said some fans treated the song as an invitation to disrupt the community.
Noah offered to pay for replacement signs and asked townspeople or board members to contact him or his mom. He apologized to the neighbors and said he protects his family’s privacy and the quiet of his hometown. He asked fans not to disturb those places or people.
Noah can’t be there to help right now. He’s on his sold-out The Great Divide world tour. He just played Rogers Stadium in Toronto and is scheduled to play the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati this week.
