GAYLE, the singer behind the hit “abcdefu,” has a new single and a debut album on the way. Her new song “junebug!” is out now. She says it’s about “capturing my love for the month of June.” Many of her family’s birthdays are in June, including hers, and it’s also Pride Month. She calls June “a continuous party.”
“Junebug!” lists summer images in chant-like verses and tells the story of feeling sick over a crush. The chorus goes: “Junebug/ I can think about you all day/ Sunburn freckles peppered on your face.”
Her debut album is titled Observing Chaos. It’s due later this year. The record covers choices, falling in and out of love, trust, heartbreak, partying, and the chaos of being 17 to 21.
GAYLE will promote the album with listening sessions on a road trip. Fans can join her new fan club, the g spot, for details. (Video contains uncensored profanity.)
