Metallica is asking fans to show off their battle vests. The band posted on Facebook that battle vests are more than cut-off jackets with patches. They see them as personal stories, like tattoos.
Fans can submit photos of their vests to be featured in Metallica’s Black Box online museum. The band says they want traditional vests, sleeved jackets, battle coats or even battle skirts — anything that has the spirit of the original battle vest.
Expect to see many vests in person too. Metallica starts a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas this October.
