Rival Sons frontman Jay Buchanan has released a solo cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes.” The single comes just before the one-year mark of the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5, 2025. That show included Rival Sons and was the last performance by Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne before Ozzy’s death on July 22, 2025.
Buchanan posted about the song on Instagram. He said the chorus—just four words—means a lot to him. He wrote that Ozzy became a fixture in his life about ten years ago and that the man he saw battled the odds and won. Buchanan said he wanted to frame the cover as a tribute to a hero who grew old, saw his grandchildren and was celebrated at Villa Park.
Buchanan released his debut solo album, Weapons of Beauty, in February. Rival Sons also announced a U.S. tour that starts in October.
