A new official Black Sabbath book has been announced. The Masters of Reality — Why Black Sabbath Matter was created by rock photographer Ross Halfin with the band. It is billed as the first-ever official Black Sabbath book.
The book traces Sabbath from their start in the late 1960s to their final live show. That last concert was Back to the Beginning in Birmingham in July 2025. Halfin says the book was meant to come out soon after that show, but plans paused after Ozzy Osbourne’s death a few weeks later.
“Ozzy and Sharon wanted the book out soon after the final show,” Halfin says. “Ozzy was fully involved and signed the book plates months before the final show, as did all the band members. Now, one year after Back to the Beginning, we thought the time was right to announce it. We hope fans enjoy it.”
