Alabama Shakes have announced a new album, I Must Be Dreaming. It will be released Aug. 28. This is their third full-length album and their first in more than 10 years.
Frontwoman Brittany Howard says the title has a double meaning. “I must be dreaming” can mean the world feels crazy. It can also mean the world feels incredibly beautiful. Both can be true at once.
The album includes previously released songs “Another Life” and “American Dream.” A new song, “I Feel Hope Coming,” will premiere Friday.
Alabama Shakes released Boys & Girls in 2012 and Sound & Color in 2015. They went on hiatus in 2018. The band reunited at the end of 2024 with a surprise show and then announced they were back together.
They start a U.S. tour on July 24 in Tacoma, Washington.
