Ed O’Brien discusses Radiohead’s plan of performing 20 shows annually, stating, ‘It’s impossible to perform any additional concerts.’

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien says the band won’t be playing many more shows than they already are. Radiohead came back to the stage at the end of 2025 for 20 European dates. It was their first run of live shows in seven years.

O’Brien told the Los Angeles Times he doesn’t see the band doing more than 20 shows a year. He says the songs are powerful and the shows take a lot out of them. “By the end of it, you were drained,” he said.

He also noted the crowd is getting younger. Their biggest streaming audience now is 16 to 24. That makes the shows very emotional for fans and the band. O’Brien said doing more concerts would mean holding something back. He isn’t willing to do that.

O’Brien has also released a new solo song called “Abbeycwmhir.” It follows his solo album Blue Morpho, which came out in May.
