Cage the Elephant has released a new song called “Beaches in Tennessee.” It follows their 2024 album Neon Pill.
Frontman Matt Shultz says the song is about moving past a recent mental health crisis. He was arrested on gun charges in 2023 and spent nearly three months in the hospital. Shultz calls the track a fictionalized take on that time. He says writing it helped him reclaim the story from his own experience.
“Beaches in Tennessee” is the band’s first release on their new label, Big Loud Rock. Fans can expect more music and updates from the group soon.
