Gojira’s drummer Mario Duplantier will miss the band’s upcoming U.S. shows because of an immigration issue. The band says the problem made it impossible for him to travel to the U.S. in time.
Mario is said to be heartbroken and tried hard to find a solution. Gojira will still headline Wisconsin Rock Fest Thursday and play Upheaval and Inkcarceration on Friday and Saturday.
Luigi Paraventi from Paleface Swiss will fill in on drums. The band joked that “Player 2 has entered the game,” a fun nod for Nintendo fans. The shows will go on as planned.
