Noah Kahan had surprise guests at his Citi Field show in Queens on Sunday. During his tour’s onstage “phone call” segment, Elmo and Cookie Monster appeared on the stadium screen. Noah introduced them as “some friends who live here in this area.”
“Wow, look at all those people! Hi, everybody!” Elmo shouted. Cookie Monster asked if Noah had sung “Cookie Season” yet. Elmo corrected him: “It’s ‘Stick Season,’ Cookie Monster!” Cookie apologized and joked he was ready to bring cookies if Noah ever needed one. Elmo signed off, “We love you, Noah. Have a great show!”
Aaron Dessner also joined Noah onstage during “End of August.” Dessner co-produced Noah’s album The Great Divide and shared a clip of the moment on his Instagram Story, calling Noah “frickin incredible.”
Noah had to cancel the first of two planned Citi Field shows earlier because of bad weather. The tour moves on to Washington, D.C., on July 22.
