Former President Barack Obama has shared his 2026 summer playlist. It opens with “Song of Good Hope” by Glen Hansard. Hansard died Wednesday at 56. Obama and Michelle said they loved the song and sent condolences to his family.
The list includes The Strokes’ “Going Shopping.” Noah Kahan’s “Doors” is on it too. Coldplay’s “Charlie Brown” appears alongside “Rubber Band Man,” a collaboration between Mumford & Sons and Hozier. Temper City’s “Self Aware” is also featured; it’s currently No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.
Obama wrote, “Here are some of the songs I’ve been listening to this summer.” The playlist mixes new hits and longtime favorites. Fans of rock, indie and mainstream pop will find something familiar to play on repeat.
