Brandon Flowers of The Killers is releasing a solo album called Thrasher on Aug. 21, but he’s unsure how long he’ll keep making music after that. He says he’s been asking himself what it all means and why he’s still doing it. Flowers notes that he always gets sick after a tour, and he wonders what keeps artists like Mick Jagger going. Still, he admits concert moments are powerful and part of the pull. Flowers will start a U.S. solo tour in September to promote Thrasher. The record leans into country, but he says the synth-pop sound that made The Killers famous will always be part of him.
