Weezer has released a new song called “C.E.O.” from their color-themed Gold Album. The song starts with Rivers Cuomo singing, “Cranking out another ’90s jam / Wish I could do something new / But nobody wants to hear that / They just want the classics.” Later he sings, “You can’t blame ’em really / There’s something special about your early s*.”
The “C.E.O.” video has a fun twist. Rob Riggle and Rob Huebel play executives who demand the band recreate the “Undone – The Sweater Song” video. When Weezer walks off the set, the executives and director Curry Barker hire actors Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, plus skate legend Tony Hawk, to finish the shoot. The Gold Album is Weezer’s first full-length record in five years and arrives Aug. 21. It also includes the previously released songs “Shine Again” and “We Might as Well Be Strangers.”
Weezer will kick off their U.S. Gathering tour in September with The Shins and Silversun Pickups. An international leg begins in Japan in February 2027 and moves to the U.K. and Europe in May, with Taking Back Sunday joining the run.
