A new documentary about Rush drummer Neil Peart will have its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival.
Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple, directed by Scot McFayden and Sam Dunn, opens at the Princess of Wales Theatre on Sept. 16. It will also screen on Sept. 17 and Sept. 19. The festival runs Sept. 10–20. The film will air on CBC on Sept. 23.
The documentary looks at Peart’s artistry and lasting influence. It includes rare archival footage, intimate reflections and live performances. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson appear, along with drummers Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith, Danny Carey and others.
Peart died in 2020 at age 67. Lee and Lifeson are currently touring on Rush’s Fifty Something tour — their first since his death. The band plays Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday. For full tour dates, visit Rush.com. More info on the festival is at TIFF.net.
