Travis Barker says one night on tour with Cypress Hill went badly after he and Tom DeLonge smoked with the rap group. Talking with Zane Lowe, the blink-182 drummer recalled the mid-2000s tour when Cypress Hill asked them to join a smoke session between sets. Barker usually avoided getting high before a show. But it was the last night of the tour and Cypress Hill insisted.
Barker says the concert felt endless. “It was the longest f show,” he told Lowe. “Songs felt like they lasted forever. It was like my body was working, but everything up here was silent.” DeLonge struggled too. “Tom came to me halfway through the show and he was like, ‘I wanna go home,’” Barker said. “I was like, ‘Me, too.’ It was so awful.”
Barker’s new documentary, Louder than Fear, premieres Thursday on Hulu and Disney+.
