Sid Wilson has quietly marked the end of his time with Slipknot. He changed his Instagram bio to read “@slipknot 1997-2026” after reports that he’d left the band. Slipknot confirmed his departure in an update late Friday.
With Wilson gone, only four members from the band’s classic nine-piece lineup remain: frontman Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, and guitarists Jim Root and Mick Thomson. Bassist Paul Gray died in 2010. Drummer Joey Jordison left the band in 2013 and died in 2021. Percussionist Chris Fehn and sampler Craig Jones left in 2019 and 2023, respectively.
Fans will be watching to see how the band moves forward from here.
