Amy Lee of Evanescence expresses her thoughts on the success of ‘End of You’, stating that it was ‘truly amazing to witness’

Amy Lee says the success of “End of You” felt amazing. The song began when producer Jordan Fish and Poppy had an idea for an all-female collaboration. “Then we got Courtney, too,” Lee says. “Everyone added their own spice and it turned into a song that blew up.”

“End of You” made history by becoming the first song led by three women to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart since 1981. Lee says she wasn’t surprised. “People are gonna love this,” she remembers thinking. She also wanted the moment to spotlight women in heavy music. “Women are kinda ruling heavy music right now,” she says.

Evanescence just finished a U.S. tour for their new album, Sanctuary, with Spiritbox on the bill. They will start a U.K. and European tour in September with support from Poppy. Fans can expect more live shows and collaborations ahead.
