Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons Defend Band Name Against ‘Nepo Baby’ Criticism

The musicians clarify that their collaborative project name, Stanley Simmons, simply reflects their real surnames.

Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons, sons of KISS legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, recently addressed criticism regarding their collaborative musical project, Stanley Simmons. Speaking during an interview on SoundExchange’s Sound Advice, the duo explained that using their surnames was an organic choice rather than a marketing gimmick or an intentional effort to leverage their fathers’ fame, drawing comparisons to groups like Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

The pair began working together on February 3, 2024, when they wrote their first song, “Temporary Love.” Stanley Simmons will release their 12-track debut album, Dancing While The World Is Ending, on August 28, which includes tracks such as “Body Down,” “Cellophane,” and the title track. The duo is also scheduled to kick off their first U.S. tour on September 14 in Dallas, concluding on November 3 in West Hollywood.
