Tim Curry, the British actor and singer known for his roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has died at the age of 80. His publisher at Grand Central confirmed his death but declined further comment. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers conducted a death investigation at the actor’s home overnight, concluding the inquiry without finding anything suspicious.
Born in Cheshire, England, Curry built a wide-ranging career across theater, film, television, and music. He earned Tony Award nominations for his stage performances in Amadeus and Spamalot, won a Daytime Emmy for voicing Captain Hook in Peter Pan and the Pirates, and featured in films such as The Hunt for Red October and Charlie’s Angels. As a musician, Curry released three solo albums and landed a hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with his 1979 single “I Do the Rock.”
