Foo Fighters Announced as Rock in Rio 2026 Headliners and Detail 2027 Brazil Tour Dates

The band will perform at Olympic Park in September 2026 before returning for two Take Cover Tour shows in February 2027.

Foo Fighters are set to headline Rock in Rio 2026 on Sept. 4 at Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, performing on the opening date of the festival, which runs Sept. 4–7 and Sept. 11–13. The band will return to Brazil in February 2027 for two shows on their Take Cover Tour, playing Belo Horizonte’s Arena MRV on Feb. 18 and São Paulo’s Estádio MorumBIS on Feb. 20. Karen Dió and Deb and The Mentals will open both February dates, with tickets available via Ticketmaster and the official box office.

In festival promotional content, frontman Dave Grohl selected “Best of You,” from 2005’s In Your Honor, as the track best representing the band’s connection to Brazilian fans, and named “Everlong” as the song he would most want to hear 100,000 attendees sing together. The festival’s Rock Day will also feature performances by The Hives, Rise Against, Nova Twins, Capital Inicial, Hot Milk, Detonautas, Di Ferrero, Diogo Defante, Venere Vai Venus, Rock in Gil with Larissa Luz, and Chady. Foo Fighters’ current lineup features Grohl alongside bassist Nate Mendel, guitarists Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear, keyboardist Rami Jaffee, and drummer Ilan Rubin, who replaces former drummer Josh Freese.
