Designed with RUSH’s touring drummer, the seamless aluminum snare combines vintage aesthetics with modern construction.
TAMA has released a new signature snare drum created in collaboration with German drummer Anika Nilles, who is currently touring with RUSH on the band’s “Fifty Something” tour. Developed over more than two years, the drum was built to achieve a deep low end, clear snare-wire definition, and a vintage-inspired appearance.
The instrument features a 14-by-6.5-inch, 1.2mm seamless aluminum shell with four center grooves and a slightly wider bearing edge for added rigidity and resonance. Additional specifications include TAMA’s 2.3mm Sound Arc Hoops, a Linear-Drive strainer, and a 20-strand Starclassic Hi-Carbon Steel snare wire system. Nilles joined RUSH earlier this year alongside Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, stepping into the touring drum seat previously held by the late Neil Peart.
