Andrew Garfield stars as Sam Altman in the upcoming film opening in select theaters on Christmas Day.
Neon has debuted the first teaser trailer for director Luca Guadagnino’s comedic drama Artificial. Written by Simon Rich, the film stars Andrew Garfield as Sam Altman and focuses on the events surrounding Altman’s firing and rehiring at OpenAI during a multi-day span in 2023. The ensemble cast includes Mark Rylance, Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro, Billie Lourd, Jason Schwartzman, Cooper Koch, Cooper Hoffman, and Ike Barinholtz.
The teaser trailer features Garfield’s Altman arriving at a cabin on the water containing a hidden weapon bunker while delivering a voice-over reflecting on the future of artificial intelligence. Artificial is scheduled for a select theatrical release on Christmas Day before expanding to a wide release in January.
