Actor and recording artist William Shatner revealed during an interview on The Moynihan Report with Michael Moynihan that his upcoming heavy metal album will be titled What the F Is Heavy Metal?, pending final approval from everyone involved. Shatner explained that the title came directly from his initial reaction when his frequent label, Cleopatra Records, first suggested he make a heavy metal record. After listening to the Guns N’ Roses song “Patience,” Shatner wrote a song titled “Impatience” and approached the genre as a curious newcomer focusing on passionate emotions.
The album features a lineup of prominent rock and heavy metal veterans, including Queen guitarist Brian May, Judas Priest singer Rob Halford, Disturbed bassist John Moyer, and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.
