Money Mark and Mix Master Mike joined the rapper at The Belasco to perform “So What’cha Want.”
Mike D brought out longtime Beastie Boys collaborators Money Mark and Mix Master Mike during his solo show at The Belasco in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 21. Money Mark opened on keyboard before the three musicians performed the 1992 single “So What’cha Want” to close the night. In addition to Beastie Boys songs, Mike D performed tracks from his debut solo album, Thank You, which was released in August.
Mike D, born Michael Louis Diamond, is currently touring behind the album with a band that features his sons, Davis and Skyler. The tour includes dates in California, Washington, and Vancouver, followed by stops in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Mexico City in December. Thank You is the first solo release from a Beastie Boys member and does not feature bandmate Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, though Mike D noted that Horovitz was fully supportive of the solo effort.
