The track featuring John 5 is the band’s first No. 1 hit on the chart since 2014
Nickelback has secured its ninth No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Rattle the Cage,” featuring guitarist John 5. Moving from No. 2 to No. 1 on the chart dated Sept. 26, the song gives the band its first top spot on the format since “Edge of a Revolution” in October 2014. The achievement also gives John 5 his first Billboard No. 1 in a billed role.
“Rattle the Cage” is the lead single for Nickelback’s 11th studio album, Everything Under the Sun, which is set for release on Oct. 30. The 12-track collection marks the group’s first studio album since 2022’s Get Rollin’ and includes additional songs such as “Bones for the Crows” and “Leave Me Behind.”
