The Blink-182 guitarist watched more than 43,000 fans perform his 1999 hit during an eighth-inning stadium tradition at Petco Park.
Blink-182 guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge was visibly moved on Oct. 6 when more than 43,000 San Diego Padres fans sang “All the Small Things” during Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The song, originally released on Blink-182’s 1999 album Enema of the State, played over the Petco Park speakers in the eighth inning while the Padres held a 4-3 lead, following a venue tradition for late-game leads. Fox Sports cameras captured an emotional DeLonge nodding along, waving a yellow Padres rally towel, and singing a line from the track directly toward the camera.
The Padres maintained their 4-3 lead to win the game, bringing the Brewers’ lead in the best-of-five series to 2-1. DeLonge’s appearance at the game follows prior involvement with the baseball team, which includes throwing out first pitches and releasing a Padres merchandise collaboration.
