Levy addressed Gillis’ comments about women’s gym attire in an Instagram video.
Dan Levy criticized Shane Gillis following Gillis’ stand-up monologue on the Oct. 10 episode of Saturday Night Live. During his routine, Gillis made disparaging comments about women’s gym attire and joked about women filming men who look at them.
In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, the Schitt’s Creek actor called the remarks misogynistic and expressed shock that they aired on live national television. Levy urged men to stand up against the objectification of women. Levy previously hosted SNL in 2021. Gillis, who hosted the show in 2024 and 2025, was originally fired from the cast in 2019 after resurfaced anti-Asian and anti-LGBTQ+ comments.
