The Guns N’ Roses singer and Japanese musician were slated to perform together in Central Park before severe weather canceled the event.
Japanese rock musician Yoshiki revealed that Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose was in a New York City studio in September to rehearse a joint performance for the Global Citizen Festival. The event, scheduled for Sept. 26 on the Great Lawn in Central Park, was canceled due to severe weather warnings. In an Instagram post, Yoshiki shared that Rose was a planned surprise guest and that the duo had rehearsed an English version of the song “Red Swan.”
A studio photo posted in late September by Guns N’ Roses manager Fernando Lebeis had initially sparked fan speculation regarding new music. While Guns N’ Roses released the songs “Nothin'” and “Atlas” in December and guitarist Slash has noted ongoing work on music, the band has not confirmed a new album. Guns N’ Roses wrapped the North American leg of its tour in mid-September before scheduled dates in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in November.
