The Blink-182 member was in the stands at Petco Park during Game 3 of the NLDS when the stadium erupted into his band’s 1999 anthem.
Blink-182 guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge became visibly emotional on Oct. 6 when more than 43,000 San Diego Padres fans sang “All the Small Things” at Petco Park. DeLonge was attending Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers when the 1999 hit played over the speakers while the Padres held a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning. Fox Sports cameras captured DeLonge teary-eyed in the stands as he nodded along, waved a yellow Padres rally towel, and joined the crowd in singing the track he co-wrote for the album Enema of the State.
The song has become a tradition at Petco Park, with fans taking over the vocals whenever the team leads heading into the eighth inning. The Padres held on to win the game 4-3, bringing the best-of-five series to 2-1 in favor of Milwaukee. DeLonge, who has previously thrown ceremonial first pitches and released a merchandise collaboration with the team, witnessed the hometown crowd embrace the anthem during the crucial postseason victory.
