The Raconteurs Reunite During Jack White’s Nashville Show for First Performance Since 2019

The Raconteurs shared a stage again Saturday night, Oct. 10, joining Jack White’s concert at The Truth in Nashville, as shared by Rolling Stone. It was their first show together since December 2019. Five songs made up the encore.

White was playing the second of two nights at The Truth, a 4,400-capacity venue that opened Oct. 1. The band, made up of White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler, opened the set with “Steady, As She Goes.” “Carolina Drama” closed it out.

White dropped a hint earlier in the day on Instagram. “Inside info for any Raconteurs fans in the Nashville area…you might want to buy a ticket for Jack White’s show at The Truth tonight…there just might be a little surprise,” he wrote.

Before the reunion, White pulled songs from every corner of his catalog. He played a collection of tracks from The White Stripes, plus the solo tracks “Lazaretto,” “Freedom at 21,” and “That’s How I’m Feeling.” He also played “Miss Being Mrs.” from Van Lear Rose, an album he produced for Loretta Lynn in 2004.

Keeler already plays in White’s solo touring band. The Raconteurs last shared a stage on Dec. 13, 2019, at The Republik in Honolulu. That night closed out a touring year for their third album, Help Us Stranger.

Help Us Stranger arrived June 21, 2019, and it hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, per Billboard. The band had gone 11 years without a new record. Before it came Broken Boy Soldiers in 2006 and Consolers of the Lonely in 2008.

The group released the EP Live at Electric Lady in 2020, along with a documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch. Back in April 2019, the band had ended an eight-year break from live shows at a Third Man Records 10th anniversary event in Nashville.

The reunion landed in the same month Third Man Records announced Broken Boy Soldiers XX. It is the next Vault package and marks 20 years since the debut album. Inside are studio demos, alternate takes, and unreleased songs.

A recording of the band’s first concert, held in Liverpool on March 20, 2006, is part of the set. Buyers also get a film strip, four trading cards, and three LPs. Rolling Stone reported that the package has nine demos.

No one knows yet if Saturday’s reunion was a one-time thing or the start of something bigger. No Raconteurs tour dates are listed.

White released his seventh solo album, Frozen Charlotte, in July. He is touring through 2026, with stops set for Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, and Atlanta through November.

December takes him to Africa. He plays Johannesburg on Dec. 11, Cape Town on Dec. 14, and Nairobi on Dec. 18. Plans for 2027 haven’t been announced. Find tour dates here.
