KISS Say Farewell to Allentown, PA

Almost 20 years after KISS performed their “farewell tour”, they were back again with the “Final Farewell” Tour at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA. The 10,000 plus fans on this beautiful night in February were in for an incredible performace by the “World’s Greatest Rock n Roll Band.”

Forty some years ago they had the idea that a rock show should be like a theatrical production and this show was just that and didn’t disappoint. KISS’ shows have hydraulic stages, lasers, guitars that shoot fireworks and more pyro than any other show we have seen. The audience was as on fire as the band from the opening songs “Detroit Rock City” and “Shout It Out Loud,” all the way through the 2 hour show which included hits like “Lick It Up,” “Heaven’s On Fire,” “Calling Dr. Love,” “Beth,” “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and “Rock and Roll All Nite.”

KISS looked great and sounded even better. Paul Stanley, who is 68, still prances around the stage with his “guns” exposed while Gene Simmons, who is 70, covered in “body armour” still stomps around the stage licking the neck of his bass and just showing off his tongue every chance he gets.
