LIGHTWORKER SHARE NEW SONG “THE WILLING MARTYR” — LISTEN

NEW ALBUM FURY BY FAILURE OUT VIA SOLID STATE ON JUNE 12

San Francisco’s Lightworker — Joe Calderon, Grayson Hurd, Ryan Johnson, and Brad Green— will drop their debut full length Fury By Failure on June 12 via Solid State Records. The album follows the Resilience EP.

The band has shared the new song “The Willing Martyr.” Fans can listen to both “The Willing Martyr” and the previously released track “Empyre,” as well as order the vinyl album, here.

“‘The Willing Martyr’” is about breaking the cycle with anyone or anything that tries to keep you from realizing your full potential and having the guts to break free from the vicious cycle of exploitation and depravity,” the band explains.

“This and all of the songs on Fury By Failure touch on how you can find that fury inside yourself and choose to do something positive with it instead of giving into defeat,” Lightworker further elaborates. “When it comes to our misgivings, we have a choice. We either back down in the face of adversity and let it own us, or we can embrace the failure to move forward with a blistering passion to overcome and build upon the lessons learned. With these songs, we choose to explore the latter.”

The album is raw yet refined, fusing elements of metal and post-hardcore with a perfectly struck balance of melodic and aggressive tones. The band’s goal is to offer a sense of hope in a blisteringly broken world — proving heavy music can carry a lightness all its own.
