The Grammy Awards Are Being Postponed

The Grammy Awards are being postponed, according to Variety. They report that the show may be moved to March, although no date has been announced.

The Grammys normally take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with an audience of 18,000-plus people. A number of award shows took place in 2020 and took measures to keep everyone safe. But Los Angeles (and all of California) has seen a surge in Covid-19 cases in recent weeks. USA Today reports that The Los Angeles Emergency Medical Services Agency issued two memos Monday instructing emergency responders to limit the use of supplemental oxygen and not transport patients who cannot be revived in the field. Further, they report that in Los Angeles County, Covid-19 patients are often forced to wait in ambulances for hours until hospital beds open up.
