Marilyn Manson: TV Roles Dropped; Rose McGowan Comments on Abuse Allegations

The fallout from the abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson have been swift and broad. Here is the latest:

Manson Dropped from Upcoming TV Roles

Deadline reports Manson has been dropped from TV television projects: Starz’s American Gods and AMC’s Creepshow.

A Starz rep told Deadline, “Due to the allegations made against Marilyn Manson, we have decided to remove his performance from the remaining episode he is in, scheduled to air later this season. Starz stands unequivocally with all victims and survivors of abuse.”

Deadline also noted, “Additionally, AMC’s Shudder has pulled Manson’s episode of its horror anthology series Creepshow. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, was set to appear in one of two segments of an upcoming episode for the Shudder show’s second season. A Shudder rep told Deadline, that Manson’s segment will be replaced.”

Rose McGowan Issues Statement in Support of Evan Rachel Wood

Rose McGowan, an ex-fiancé of Manson’s, issued a statement via Instagram saying, “I am profoundly sorry to those who have suffered the abuse & mental torture of Marilyn Manson. When I say Hollywood is a cult, I mean the Entertainment industry including the music industry is a cult. Cult’s protect the rot at the top. Theirs is a sickness that must be stopped. The industrial fame complex chooses who they protect & who they’ll let be their victims. For profit.”

She added, “I stand with Evan Rachel Wood and all of those who have or will come forward. And please don’t pull out the ‘why did they take so much time to come forward?’ question that shames victims/survivors, it’s what stops others from coming forward. And to all of those who have covered for monsters, shame on you. Rise and say no more.”

California State Senator Calls for Investigation into Manson

California State Senator Susan Rubio has submitted a formal request to Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson and FBI Director Christopher Ray calling for an investigation into Manson’s abuse allegations. Evan Rachel Wood shared the letter in its entirety on Instagram which is part reads, “As a domestic violence survivor who now advocates for victims in my role of California state legislator, I share a common trauma of emotional, psychological and physical control at the hands of an abuser…Since some of the alleged cases against Mr. Warner are from California, I am especially alarmed. Individuals who engage in this kind of abuse are often serial offenders. If these allegations are true, and no investigation is undertaken, we will be failing the victims and allowing a possible perpetrator to continue abusing unsuspecting victims. That must not be allowed to happen.”
