Rolling Stones’ ‘Tattoo You’ Reissue Gets Red Vinyl Exclusive At RS No.9 Carnaby

A limited vinyl edition of the Rolling Stones’ 1981 album Tattoo You will be available from Friday (22) as an exclusive at their flagship store, RS No.9 Carnaby, and via its website. The highly collectable disc coincides with the release of the Tattoo You (40th Anniversary) editions, featuring a wealth of unreleased material alongside the remastered original album.

The disc will be in the bespoke “Stones Red” Pantone color and becomes the latest in the series of limited edition vinyl releases, all exclusive to the London store and its online incarnation. The series has also included Goat’s Head Soup, Sticky Fingers, Some Girls, Black & Blue, and Blue & Lonesome.

The Tattoo You “Stones Red” vinyl will be limited to 1,000 copies, priced at £25, available from Friday at 11am BST at the store, which opened last year at 9 Carnaby Street in London’s Soho. It will also be available to purchase, in very limited stock, from 6pm the same day on the RS No.9 Carnaby official website.

As their No Filter dates continue across the US to huge press and public acclaim, the Stones have so far shared two tasters from the nine-track Lost & Found disc that is part of the anniversary editions of the 1981 album. These are their versions of the Chi-Lites’ “Troubles A’ Comin” and their own “Living In The Heart Of Love.”

Writing about the Stones’ show at the So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday (17), Daniel Kohn of Spin observed: “[Mick] Jagger can still move and groove across the stage even as he approaches his 80s. The same goes for how [Keith] Richards and Ronnie Wood still have the energy to do this as frequently as they do – even with a buffer of nearly a week between shows. Nonetheless, you try getting up and putting on a stadium show for 70,000 people at the age they are and tell me how it feels.”

Pre-order Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition), which is released on October 22.
