The forthcoming Robbie Williams biopic, Better Man, will begin filming in Melbourne, Australia in early 2022 and will be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman).

Williams is one of the U.K.’s most prominent entertainers and one of the best-selling artists of all time. He first found fame with the group Take That, from 1989 to 1995, and then began a wildly successful solo career. The film “will offer an introspective look into the experiences that shaped Williams, both on and off stage.”

Williams is expected to appear as himself, with some of his songs “re-interpreted and recontextualized in the film.”

em>Variety reported that Better Man will be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by leading film distributor, Roadshow Films. International sales are handled by U.K.-based Rocket Science, which previously handled “Schumacher” and “The Trial of The Chicago 7.”

Back at the end of September, Robbie Williams reissued his first two multi-million selling solo albums Life Thru A Lens and I’ve Been Expecting You on vinyl for the very first time. The new versions of the two titles include a special edition white vinyl of Life Thru A Lens and aquamarine for I’ve Been Expecting You.

Released on September 24, both titles have been newly mastered at Abbey Road Studios, are pressed on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl and housed in gatefold sleeves, reproducing the original distinctive artwork. Both titles are available with download codes.

Originally released in October 1997, Life Thru A Lens was Williams debut solo album. It entered the chart at number 11 but had to wait almost six months before it reached number one. It eventually spent 147 weeks on the Top 100 and has been certified 8x Platinum by the BPI for UK sales in excess of 2 million copies. It includes the hit singles “Old Before I Die” (No.2), “Lazy Days” (No.8), “South Of The Border” (No.14), “Let Me Entertain You” (No.3) and “Angels” (No.4), the latter his biggest selling single to date, and voted the best song of the last twenty-five years at the 2005 BRIT Awards.
