Summer Walker has announced a one-off headline show in her hometown of Atlanta, due to take place next month.
The R&B star will hold her first live performance of the year at the 3,600-capacity Coca-Cola Roxy venue on February 18.
“Atlanta I’m home!!! 1st live show of the New Year!!!” she wrote, announcing the show on Instagram.
The gig will be in support of her second album, Still Over It, which was released in November 2021 and gave her her first No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Tickets for the show will go on sale today (January 14) at 12pm ET and will be available for purchase from Walker’s official website.
Still Over It, the critically acclaimed follow-up to 2019’s Over It, broke numerous records in just a matter of hours after its release last year. Among them, the record became the biggest album debut by a female-identifying artist ever on Apple Music and the biggest R&B album debut ever on the same streaming platform.
The album boasts features from artists including Cardi B, SZA, Ari Lennox, and Lil Durk and is packed with Walker’s unapologetic candor and raw honesty.
In one notable live performance from 2021, the star covered neo-soul pioneer Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge sessions. Walker had spoken previously about Badu’s impact on her growing up.
“When I used to watch you perform a lot, I just would always say, ‘Oh, my God, look at this confidence,’” she said during an interview with Badu in Rolling Stone in 2020. “The way that you would command a room, command either your band or your space. Woman to woman, I want to be like that, to have that type of confidence.”
