Emerging Mercury Nashville artist Priscilla Block has announced that her debut album, Welcome To The Block Party, will be released on February 11. To coincide with the news, she has also unveiled the new track and lyric video “My Bar,” an unapologetically self-confident song which will feature on the album, and which she wrote with Stone Aielli and Lexie Hayden.
Welcome To The Block Party comes in the wake of Block’s self-titled six-song EP, which became 2021’s highest-performing country female debut release in that format. The album brings a blend of country-pop and southern rock to the modern-day Nashville scene and features 12 songs, all co-written by the artist herself, with such collaborators as Aielli, Sarah Jones, and Emily Kroll.
The set also includes “Just About Over You,” a Top 15 Country Airplay which was also the highest-peaking debut single by a female country artist in 2021. Block has been listed as a MusicRow 2021 Next Big Thing Artist and a 2021 CMT Next Women of Country inductee. MusicRow noted that Block’s songs “emanate authenticity, making others feel they have a place at the table, and someone new to relate to.”
“I cannot believe that my debut album is almost here,” says the 26-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina. “It has all the trash, all the sass, and all the sad. But hey, that’s my life, and I’m so excited for the world to finally hear this. I wrote all of these songs from a real and raw place, and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to show various aspects of where I’ve been and who I am.
“Everyone knows that I love a good bar, so ‘My Bar’ felt a perfect place to kick off the new record!!” she concludes. “Welcome to the Block Party Baby!!!!”
