Get Paid $1,100 to Listen to Breakup Songs

We’ve all been there. You go through a nasty breakup and turn to music for comfort. I prefer listening to songs like “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Love Bites” after a breakup, but to each their own.

Now, there’s actually a company that wants to hire someone to listen to breakup songs for 24 hours. They’ll pay you to listen, too.

FinanceBuzz is currently taking applications for a “DJ of Heartache” who will get $1,100 to listen to 24 hours breakup-appropriate songs. Their playlist features a range of tracks about heartbreak, from Taylor Swift to Adele.

The deadline for online applications is Jan. 31 at midnight ET. To apply, you must be based in the United States and be at least 18 years old. Applications are currently open here.

A candidate will be chosen by Feb. 2, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Then, the “DJ of Heartache” will have until Feb. 6 to listen to the full playlist. Finally, the winner will be asked to create generate five playlists of their own, perfect for the five stages of grief after a breakup. Good luck!
