Lewis Capaldi has announced a one-off headline show in Cardiff Bay, set to take place this summer.

The chart-topping, multi-award-winning singer-songwriter will perform at Alexandra Head as part of the venue’s open-air gigs, dubbed The Bay Series, on July 20.

Other artists set to perform at the venue this summer include Biffy Clyro, Eric Prydz, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Pendulum, and more. Tickets for Capaldi’s gig will go on general sale at 10am on Friday (February 4) and will be available to purchase here.

Capaldi is currently working on the follow-up to his top-selling debut album Divinely Inspired To A Hellish Extent. At the beginning of 2022, he shared a message with fans on his social media accounts thanking them for “the most incredible few years” and promising to return soon with new music.

The two-time BRIT Award winner is gearing up for a busy summer that will also see him headline Isle Of Wight Festival and Glasgow’s TRNSMT, and perform at Manchester’s Parklife Festival.

In October 2021, the acclaimed musician dominated the ASCAP Awards, picking up four awards. Among them was Songwriter Of The Year for “Someone You Loved” and “Before You Go,” both taken from his debut album. “Someone You Loved” was also named Song Of The Year and Top Streaming Song, while “Before You Go” also took home the Winning Hot 100 Song trophy.

Meanwhile, a new documentary chronicling Capaldi’s new album was reported to be in the works last summer. The film is being helmed by BAFTA-winning director Joe Pearlman and the creative team behind 2020’s Beastie Boys Story and Beyoncé’s 2016 visual album, Lemonade.

“If the immense pressure of writing and recording a second album that has to live up to the expectations of so many people I’ve never met while also attempting to eclipse the commercial success of my previous album wasn’t enough, I decided to film the process in its entirety for your viewing pleasure,” Capaldi said in a statement at the time.
